"When should I have a maternity shoot done?"
I normally schedule maternity sessions between 32 and 36 weeks. We don't want to leave it too long because you never know when baby might come and most women feel uncomfortable in the last few weeks of pregnancy and we don't want to do it too early because you want to have a big enough belly to show in your photos.
"What should I bring to my maternity shoot?"
If you are planning on a nude shoot or a concealed nude then it is best to wear loose fitting clothing that will not mark your skin.
Clothing for maternity photo shoots should be tight-fitting around the belly. Loose shirts and pants hide your bump.
Please steer clear of stripes and busy patterns as they tend to hide and detract from your bump. Stick with solid colors.
Bring items that will personalise the shoot for you (baby's booties, teddy bear etc)
Your hands will feature a lot in the photos so please make sure that your hands and nails are neat.
"I have stretch marks or other blemishes on my skin, the photos will look awful, won't they??"
You might love your stretch marks or you might hate them. Everyone is different. I will remove any blemishes or stretchmarks if you want me to at no additional cost. It is entirely up too you.
"Will the whole world be able to see my photos afterwards?"
Absolutely not! I do not post any photos to social media of any kind. You will be emailed your sneak preview and the rest of your photos will be delivered to you on a disk. I do not use any of my clients photos without their permission.
"Can I include my husband and children in the session?"
Yes! However please bring along another adult to watch the children while we are doing your solo photos
"Can I get the unedited/Raw copies of all my photos from the shoot?"
Unfortunately not, You have chosen me because hopefully you like my photography. The editing is part of why you like it. Raw /unedited photos are unfinished products. The editing of your images is just a part of my process and one of many factors in delivering and creating the final image. An example of this is hiring a baker to bake your cakes. You are paying for the final creation. Can you imagine if the baker presented you with a tray of ingredients?
"How long do I have to wait before I get my photos?"
I know you are excited to see your photos and try my utmost to ensure you get them quickly. It takes approximately 2 - 3 weeks for me to edit your photos. I always aim to get the photos to my clients sooner but it depends on whether its a busy period or not.
